This document outlines the rules for events hosted by Sun Life Financial (“SLF”) advisors for other advisors, FC management and staff, head office employees and industry partners. This document is intended to help reduce regulatory and operational risk for the Event.
The rules within this document are specific to the 2022 Annual Advisor Hockey Tournament (the “Event”). The event organizer for this Event is Lester Ste. Croix (the “Event Organizer”). The Event will be held The Event will be held March 6th - 8th, 2022 at the Invista Centre, Kingston, ON
Event Rules of Conduct:
All participants must be SLF Advisors, Advisor Employees, Spouses of Advisors , SLF Employees or Staff, or industry partners.
All participants are required to sign an E-Waiver approved by SLF in advance of participating in the Event.
Sun Life Financial advisors and advisor staff must adhere to all SLF policies regarding alcohol and drugs as posted on the Advisor Business Centre for any events offered during, concurrent with or after the Event.
Sun Life Financial employees (Head Office staff and Financial Centre staff) must adhere to policies developed by SLF regarding alcohol and drugs as posted on The Source for any events offered during, concurrent with or after the Event.
No participant may consume alcohol until his or her games for the day are completed.
Alcohol may only be consumed in the restaurant or bar area of the Event Location.
Illegal drugs and/or marijuana cannot be consumed at the Event venue and participants must not be under the influence of any illegal drugs and/or marijuana.
The event organizer may terminate any individuals participating in the tournament if they are believed to be under the influence of any substance.
Sun Life Financial advisors, Managers and advisor staff must adhere to the “Code of Professional Conduct” as posted on the Advisor Business Centre. Sun Life Financial Centre Managers must also adhere to the “Code of Business Conduct”.
Sun Life Financial employees (Head Office staff and Financial Centre staff) must adhere to the “Code of Business Conduct” as posted on The Source.
The rules at the Event Location must be adhered to.
All players are required to wear full equipment in accordance with Hockey Canada standards.
Professional referees are hired for the event and are instructed that aggressive behaviour will not be tolerated.
No body contact, no slap shots above knee, and an automatic game ejection with 3 penalties in a game. Fighting results in tournament ejection and a $100 fine that is directed to the tournament charity.
